Where to Begin
Before you create new Smart eJobs or modify existing Smart eJobs with Smart Fluids for Automatic Transmission Fluid (ATF) and coolant, you should consider how your shop manages these services in terms of fluid parts, package pricing, and labor reporting.
How You Use ATF and Coolant Fluid Parts
Before configuring Smart Fluid jobs, review the way you use ATF and coolant in your shop. Some questions to ask in your review are as follows:
- How often does your shop perform these services?
- What parts (if any) do you always keep in stock?
- What parts do you prefer to order?
- Do you have a parts department configured for ATF and another for coolant?
Package Pricing
Consider how you use package pricing for your ATF and coolant jobs.
- If you use package pricing for these fluid jobs, then you would need to create a Smart Fluid job for each price point.
- If you do not use package pricing for these fluid jobs, then you could have one job for ATF and one job for coolant.
Labor Reporting
If you want to track your ATF and coolant jobs on these reports, you need to associate the Smart eJobs with labor categories and/or labor operations.
