Using Linear or Matrix by Supplier
Watch the video below to see an overview of this functionality.
Posting Stock Parts
In this example, a part is in Inventory with on-hand quantity. When posted to the repair order, the retail price in Inventory is what is transferred. The retail price was calculated using the inventory smart pricing matrix.
The Smart Pricing box is checked on the Editing Part Window. Click the
button to see how the price was calculated.
If the retail price was calculated by a method other than the inventory smart pricing matrix - by a Supplier, for instance - the Smart Pricing box is not checked.
Posting Outside Purchase Parts
There are two ways to post outside purchase parts: when there is a parts record in Inventory and when there isn't.
Part Record in Inventory but None On Hand
Since the part is available, you would purchase it online.
The price is calculated using the outside purchase matrix created specifically for CARQUEST and the Smart Pricing box is checked.
If the option in Configuration were set to When parts not in stock, use Parts in Inventory rules, the price would be calculated using the correct Inventory matrix and Smart Pricing would be checked.
When There is No Inventory Record
The part is available from CARQUEST.
If the option Use List Price if Higher Than Calculated Price was checked in Smart eCat options, the calculated price is higher than list price, so the calculated price is used. If the list price had been higher, that price would have been transferred instead.
The price is calculated using a separate outside purchase matrix that was created just for CARQUEST. The Smart Pricing box is checked. The button has been selected to show step by step how the price was calculated.
