Keyboard Shortcuts
R.O. Writer has several keyboard shortcuts - also referred to as "hot keys" - that allow you to use the keyboard to move through the program.
ALT Key
In Windows programs like R.O. Writer, you can open a menu and menu item by pressing the ALT key and a letter programmed to match the menu and menu item. The programmed letter is underlined in the name of each menu and menu item.
To select a menu, press the ALT key and the underlined character to select the function:

CTRL Key
To access the function represented by a toolbar button, select the CTRL key + the underlined character. For instance, to open the Work in Progress (WIP) Window , press CTRL + Z.
There are also CTRL + commands listed on the menus.
Function Keys
The function keys on your keyboard are programmed for specific functions in R.O. Writer. These are the keys that begin with F1 and go through F12.

Refreshes the Work in Progress (WIP) Window and Estimates in Progress Window. |

Opens a pop up window with the numbers from the Daily Summary. |
TAB Key
To place the cursor in a field, you can always just click on that field. R.O. Writer on the keyboard to move to the next field has been designed to work with the TAB key.
Every window has a specific tab sequence through the fields and options.
- When you press the TAB key, the cursor moves forward to the next field or option in the sequence.
- When the TAB + SHIFT keys, the cursor moves backward to the previous field or option in the sequence.
