Selecting a Different Customer or Vehicle

If the wrong customer and/or vehicle was selected when the estimate or repair order was created, you can select a different customer and/or vehicle.

Selecting a Different Customer

When you choose a different customer, you also have to select a new vehicle. Vehicles are always associated with one customer; therefore, if you change customers, you need to select one of the vehicles associated with that customer.

Complete these steps:

  1. On an open estimate or repair order, click Edit Customer.
  2. Click the Select Different Customer button to change the customer.

  1. The Customer Search screen is displayed.

  1. Enter another customer name in search.
  2. Select the customer and click OK or press ENTER.

If the customer name is not on file, you can click the New Customer button to add the customer to the system.
(You will also need to add a vehicle for the new customer as well.)

  1. The vehicles associated with the selected customer appear on the Vehicle List Found window.
  2. Select the vehicle currently being serviced and click OK or press ENTER.
  1. The estimate or repair order is displays the new customer and new vehicle information.

NOTE: If parts have already been selected for the ticket, make sure that those parts apply to the new vehicle as well. If not, delete those parts and select new ones that match the vehicle.

Selecting a Different Vehicle for an Estimate or Repair Order

You can select a different vehicle as long as the vehicle is associated with the customer.

NOTE: You cannot search for or select a vehicle associated with a different customer. If ownership of a vehicle in your system has changed, you can transfer the vehicle to the new owner and then come back and select it for the customer.

Complete these steps:

  1. On an open estimate or repair order and click the Edit Vehicle link.
  2. Click the Select Different Vehicle button to change the vehicle for this estimate or repair order.

  1. Click Select Different Vehicle and list of vehicles associated with this customer appears.

  1. Select the new vehicle for this estimate or repair order and click OK or press ENTER.

If the vehicle does not appear in the list, you can click the New Vehicle button to add it.

  1. This vehicle now appears on the estimate or repair order.

NOTE: If parts have already been selected for the ticket, make sure that those parts apply to the new vehicle as well. If not, delete those parts and select new ones that match the vehicle.
