Tire Quote Options
Here, you associate each button with a labor operation that includes
- The price of labor for that tire quantity
- The extra parts needed for the job such as valve stems or wheel weights
- The fees associated with tires in your area (if any)
- Post 1 Tire =
- Post 2 Tires =
- Post 3 Tires =
- Post 4 Tires =
The combination of the labor operation and quantity button is considered the pricing package. When a quantity button is clicked, the pricing packages is added to the tire quantity and the total price is calculated as the tire is added to the open ticket. You can see the total price on the Calculations Tab.
There are four steps to programming these buttons:
Step 1 - Create Four Parts Kits
Step 2 - Create Four Labor Operations
Step 3 - Attach the Appropriate Parts Kits to Labor Operations
Step 4 - Associate Each Labor Operation With Each Button
Step 1 - Create Four Parts Kits
Create a unique part kit for each tire quantity: a part kit for one tire, another for two tires, another for three tires, and another for four tires. For example, in a part kit for one tire, include one valve stem. In a part kit for two tires, include two valve stems and so on.
Fees and Tire Part Kits
Any fees added to the tires or other parts in Inventory are automatically calculated with the price of the tire(s) or part(s).
Some shops add fees to the tire itself and some like to add tire fees as part numbers from Inventory. You could also have a valve stem part that had an Environmental disposal fee, while the tires themselves in Inventory would have the State Tire Tax. Whatever method you choose, add the appropriate fees to the parts kit so they are added to the ticket when the tire is added.
Step 2 - Create Four Labor Operations
To make things easy, set up one labor category for these labor operations. Name that category something like "Tire Quote Buttons" to distinguish it from all other categories. (You do not have to set up one category for the tire quote buttons, but it is recommended.)
In the tire quote category, create a unique labor operation for each tire quantity. For example, a labor operation for the mount and balance of one tire, another for two tires, another for three tires, and another for four tires.
Enter the amount of Time for each job. The Charge is calculated as Time multiplied by the Rate. You can also enter a specific Charge amount.
Step 3 - Attach the Appropriate Parts Kits to Labor Operations
Attach the parts kits to the labor operation based on quantity. For example, attach the parts kit for one tire to the labor operation for one tire, the parts kit for two tires to the labor operation for two tires, and so one until all four labor operation have the appropriate parts kit attached.
Complete these steps:
- Click Configuration menu > Labor > Operations.
- Open the labor operation for one tire.
- Select the Category and Operation from the dropdown lists.
- In the Parts Kit dropdown list, select the parts kit for one tire set up in Step 1.
- Click Save to save the labor operation.
Step 4 - Associate Each Labor Operation With Each Button
Configuration menu > Repair Order > Tire Quote Options
The Tire Quote Setup window displays four Post Tire sections. The selection in each section programs the quantity button at the bottom of the Tire Quote window.
- Parts Kit Charge, Labor Charge, and Total fields are not editable and automatically calculated for you based on the information in the labor operation and its parts kit.
- The Total price includes the labor, parts, fees, sales tax and supply charges.
