Adding Part Records from the Browse Window

The Add and Edit section in the lower right corner of the Browse window allows you to add inventory records or open the inventory record highlighted in the table.

NOTE: You cannot add or edit inventory records in the row. The Add and Edit buttons open the Inventory window.

Adding Inventory Records

You can open the Inventory Entry window from the Browse window to add inventory records.

To Add Inventory Records

Complete these steps:

  1. On the Browse window, click the Add button.
    • If there is a security level on View/Add/Edit in Configuration, you are prompted to enter a password. Enter the password and click OK.
  2. A prompt appears notifying you that you are now in Edit mode.
    This means that you can add and edit inventory records until you either close Browse or uncheck the Enable Edit box.
    Click OK on the prompt.
  3. The Inventory Entry window opens.
    • The Inventory Entry window allows you to enter multiple inventory records.
  4. Enter the inventory information on the tab windows.
  5. Click Save to save the new record.
  6. The Inventory window goes blank.
    • If you want to enter another part, start entering the next record.
    • If you are finished adding records, click Close to close the Inventory Entry window.
  7. When all inventory records have been entered, click Close.
  8. The inventory record or records are added and immediately sorted into the list.
  9. The Enable Edit box is checked to indicate that the Browse window is in Edit mode.
  10. You can continue to add inventory records without being prompted until you disable edit mode.

TIP: If you want to confirm that the new record has been added, use the Filter By dropdown list to find the new record. Otherwise, you will need to use the navigation buttons to page through all results.

To Enable Edit Mode

You can also use the Enable Edit checkbox to enable and disable edit mode. In edit mode, you can add and edit inventory records until you either close Browse or uncheck the Enable Edit box.

If you have a security level on View/Add/Edit in Configuration, that security level applies when you check Enable Edit. You must enter a password to continue.

Complete these steps:

  1. Click the Enable Edit checkbox before clicking the Add or Edit buttons.
  2. The prompt appears notifying you that you are now in Edit mode.
  3. Click OK on the prompt.
  4. You can now add and edit inventory records without being prompted.

To Disable Edit Mode

You can disable edit mode at any time by unchecking the Enable Edit checkbox. This means the next time you try to add or edit an inventory record, you will be prompted.
