Texting Enrollment and Registration
If you are licensed for R.O. Writer texting and want to start texting, you need to enroll in the R.O. Writer texting program. Then, you need to register your shop’s texting number with Twilio. After your number is registered, you can configure texting.
NOTE: You access each step by clicking either one of the text message toolbar buttons.
Step 1 - Check Your License for Texting
The ability to text customers from the main window is a licensed feature. If the text message toolbar buttons are active, you are licensed for R.O. Writer Texting.
NOTE: If you do not see these toolbar buttons and would like to add this feature, please contact the R.O. Writer Sales team to upgrade your license.
You can also check your license details. You should see “ROWriter Texting” in the list of Licensed Options.
If this feature is not included in the Licensed Options section, you may need to refresh your license.
If you would like to add this feature, please contact the R.O. Writer Sales team to update your license.
Step 2 - Enroll in the R.O. Writer Texting Program
If your shop is licensed for R.O. Writer Texting but not yet enrolled in the R.O. Writer texting program, you will be guided through the process.
Complete these steps:
- Click the Text Messages button in the main toolbar or the Text Message button in the toolbar of an estimate or repair order.
- If you are not enrolled in R.O. Writer texting, your default browser opens the texting enrollment window.

Enter your information and click the Enroll button.

Your enrollment information is submitted and a confirmation message appears.
To Check the Status of Your Enrollment
You can check the status of your enrollment by clicking the Text Messages button in the main toolbar or the Text Message button in the toolbar of an estimate or repair order.

If your enrollment is still in process, your default browser window opens notifying you that your enrollment is in process.
- If your enrollment is complete, the texting registration window appears.
Step 3 - Register the Shop’s Texting Phone Number
After your enrollment in the R.O. Writer texting program is complete, your shop’s texting number needs to be registered.
Complete these steps:
- Click either the Text Messages toolbar button in the main toolbar or the Text Message button in the toolbar of an estimate or repair order.

If you are already enrolled in the R.O. Writer texting program, your default browser window opens to the texting registration window.
- Click the Start Registration button to begin.
- Complete the registration process.
To Check on the Registration
You can check the status of your registration by clicking the Text Messages button in the main toolbar or the Text Message button in the toolbar of an estimate or repair order.

If the registration is still in process, the registration web page opens stating that the registration is pending.
- If the shop is enrolled and registered, the Texting Configuration window opens in R.O. Writer.
The number registered with Twilio is selected in the SMS Phone Number dropdown list.
- Enter the rest of the configuration settings and click Save.
