Before You Upgrade R.O. Writer (Required)

Before you can upgrade R.O. Writer, you must complete the steps described in this section.

Step 1 - Complete a Full Transmission Cycle in Central Office

Before you schedule the upgrade on the Central Office server, you should

• Do a full round-trip transmission between the server and all stores.
• Stop all transmissions to the FTP site for 48 to 72 hours before upgrading.

WARNING! Any data transmitted without a full transmission cycle will be lost during the upgrade process. This is why R.O. Writer recommends not transmitting before upgrades. The full data at the store will be sent to the server during the upgrade process.

Step 2 - Install R.O. Writer on the Server and the Stores

Install R.O. Writer on the Central Office server and all stores.

R.O. Writer recommends that you install the upgrade on all machines at the same time and before your next transmission.
