PartExpert Data Server (PEDS) from Epicor

Epicor Entries in the Quick Launch
The Epicor entries in the Quick Launch changed after the release of R.O. Writer 2.3.
- The Epicor Catalog that used to open LaserCat has been removed.
- LaserCat no longer opens from the Quick Launch. Smart eCat opens instead.
- Service Intervals has a new button.
- This entry opens Service Intervals in Smart eCat instead of in LaserCat.
LaserCat Applications Now PEDS Applications in Smart eCat
The LaserCat applications that used to be available only through the Epicor Catalog entry in the Quick Launch are now available only in Smart eCat.
- Service Intervals Plus is available from the Service Intervals entry in the Quick Launch
. - This opens to the Service Intervals tab in Smart eCat.
- Interchange is available from the Smart eCat toolbar by default
. - This opens the Interchange tab window in Smart eCat.
- BuyerAssist is available from the Smart eCat toolbar by default
. - This opens the BuyerAssist tab window in Smart eCat.
All features and functionality in the LaserCat applications have been incorporated into Smart eCat. In addition, the capabilities of these applications have been expanded because those capabilities have been combined with the power of Smart eCat.
Standard Category Setting in Smart eCat Configuration
The Jobber/Dealer category setting is located on the Options tab in Smart eCat Configuration.
Dealer (42 Categories) is the default setting.
You must select either Jobber or Dealer; you cannot select both.
Categories Column
The Jobber/Dealer setting on the Options tab in Smart eCat Configuration determines how many categories appear in the Categories column on the Catalog tab in Smart eCat.
