Service Times

The service times appear in the Estimate column for labor rows on the Service Details window. This is the amount of time that Epicor estimates for the service on the row.

The time in the labor row for the service is the time for the entire service. This time transfers to Smart eCat and appears in the Time column on the Posted Parts and Labor tab.

The time in the labor row for the service includes the times in the labor detail rows; however, Epicor also calculates the time for the entire job as well. Therefore, the time in the Estimate column of the labor row for the service is more than just the sum of the labor detail rows.

Modifying Service Times

If you uncheck a labor detail row with time in the Estimate column, that time is subtracted from the labor row for the service.

You cannot adjust the time in any row on the service details window. However, time can be adjusted later on the

If the Total Service Time is Zero

Occasionally, you select a service type that has no time for the service. A “0” appears in the Estimate column.

When you click the checkbox of the labor row for the service to select the group, you are prompted to enter the service time for the entire service.

You can click Cancel to leave the time at zero hours here and add the time later - either on the Labor tab or when posted to the open ticket. If you leave this time blank; however, you cannot estimate the price of the service for the customer.

To Enter a Service Time

To enter a service time, type in the Time in hours on the prompt and click OK. The prompt closes and the time entered appears in the Estimate column.

Labor Detail Times

If any of the labor detail rows have times when you enter time for the service, those times are NOT included in the time you enter for the service. However, if you uncheck labor detail rows that have times, those times are subtracted from the time you entered.

If you uncheck enough labor detail rows to zero-out the total service time, you are prompted to enter the total service time again when you click the checkbox of the labor row for the service.
