Searching in Offline Mode

There are two search modes in Tire Quote: online and offline.

Online mode

• Searches your local inventory and tire suppliers.
• Is indicated by the online button in the Search Tires section .
• Is the default unless you make Offline the default search mode in Configuration.

Offline mode

• Searches only your local inventory.
• Is indicated by the offline button in the Search Tires section .

NOTE: Keep your local inventory and stock levels up to date to ensure accurate searches.

Switching Search Modes

Online search mode is the default. You need to switch to offline mode.

To Switch to Offline Search Mode

Complete these steps:

1. In the Search Tires section, click the online button . Tire Quote searches your local inventory.
2. When the search results return, the following changes appear on the screen:

Search Results in Offline Mode

The Tire Quote window in offline mode contains the same features as online mode - with a few key differences.

The following table describes each numbered item in the graphic above.

#	Name	Description
1	Online/ Offline Button	The button in the Search Tires section indicates which search mode you are in means you are in online search mode. means you are in offline search mode. You switch modes by clicking this button. Tire Quote searches in the new mode automatically.
2	OH	This column displays the on-hand quantity of the tire in your local inventory.
3	Supplier	The Supplier column displays the first supplier in the inventory record. The Supplier dropdown list below the results contains all the first suppliers in the inventory records in the search results.
4	SM/SC/DM	This column displays only the local codes (beginning with an "L") for the shop margin (SM), shop cost (SC), and dollar margin (DM) values. For more details about these values, click the following link: Cost and Margin
5	Supplier dropdown list	The Supplier dropdown list Contains all the first suppliers in the inventory records in the search results. Appears only in offline mode. When you select a supplier, the search results show only tires from that supplier.

Making Offline Mode the Default Search Mode

You can make offline search mode the default search mode for Tire Quote in Configuration.

Offline mode searches only your local inventory.

To Make Offline Mode the Default Search

Complete these steps:

1. Open R.O. Writer Configuration .
2. Click Configuration menu > Repair Order > Tire Quote Options.
3. In Tire Quote Options, check the Default to Offline Mode box.

4. Click OK to close.
5. The next time you open Tire Quote, the search is in offline mode.
