Notes Tab
The Notes tab stores notes about the customer, vehicle, and ticket. Use this tab to leave notes for anyone servicing the vehicle or managing customer intake and final processing.
Click on the Notes tab at the bottom of the ticket window. There are three sections, one for each type of note:
NOTE: Click the Spell Check button to check all three sections at the same time.
Entering Notes
Entering notes is as simple as typing in the available sections.
Complete these steps:
- Click inside the note section.
- Type in the information.
- Click the Save button to save the note.
NOTE: You can press CTRL + V to paste text; however, this brings up the Edit Vehicle window. If you click OK on the Edit Vehicle window, the pasted note saves. This is not recommended because you might change the vehicle information by accident.
Customer Notes
Notes in the customer record appear in the Customer Notes section of any ticket created for the customer.
These notes
- Are stored with the customer.
- Also appear on the Notes Tab of the Edit Customer window.
- When text is entered in the Customer Notes section of a ticket, the text saves to the Notes tab of the customer record and vice versa.
- Do NOT appear on the printed ticket.
Vehicle Notes
Notes in the vehicle record appear in the Vehicle Notes section of any ticket for the vehicle.
These notes
- Are stored with the vehicle.
- Also appear on the Notes Tab of the Edit Vehicle window.
- When text is entered in the Vehicle Notes section of a ticket, the text saves to the Notes tab of the vehicle record and vice versa.
- Do NOT appear on printed tickets.
Repair Order/Estimate Notes
Notes in the repair order and estimate sections are only for the current ticket. The text does not save to the customer or vehicle record.
These notes
- Appear on the printed ticket, just below the checklist items.
- Appear in the Comments column in the Estimates in Progress Window.
- Appear in the Status/Comments column and Work in Progress (WIP) Window if the Status is Open.
