Adding Smart Jobs

Smart Jobs permit direct access to the Epicor catalog for parts and labor lookup. The vehicle information is passed directly to the catalog, along with the pre-determined parts and labor associated with the job. The selected parts and labor are passed back to R.O. Writer and posted directly to the repair order.

Before using this option, Smart Jobs must be configured.

Adding a Smart Job Through Smart eCat

To open Smart eCat to the Smart eJobs tab, click the the smart ejobs toolbar button. button. For more information, see Smart eJobs.

To use Smart eJobs in Smart eCat, Smart eJobs must be enabled in Configuration (Configuration menu > Repair Order > Catalog Options > Use Smart eJob).

Adding a Smart Job Directly to an Open Ticket

To add a Smart Job, click the Smart Job button in the toolbar . The Smart Jobs menu appears.

Select the appropriate job category from the dropdown list, select the desired Smart Job, and click OK.

This activates the information to the Epicor catalog and allows selection of each labor job and part configured in the smart job.

Vehicle Configuration Questions

In order to select the appropriate labor operations, there may be specific questions regarding the vehicle configuration. Select the appropriate answers, and click OK.

The Epicor catalog will list labor operations associated with the specific labor category that was configured in the Smart Job. Select the appropriate labor operations by clicking in the box next to the labor operation number.

When all configured labor operations and parts have been transferred to the repair order, select Exit on the Smart Jobs screen.
