Central Office Configuration
Central Office allows you to share data between locations while having one central location to collate the data. You must designate one machine as the Central Office server, then configure the Central Office client machines.
The Central Office server is often referred to as “the Central Office” or just “the office”. The machines that are Central Office clients and run R.O. Writer Client are often referred to as “the store” or “the shop”.
All transmissions happen through the configured FTP site. That is how data is shared amongst all locations. Data never transmits directly from the server to the store or the store to the server.
Central Office is installed when R.O. Writer Client is installed and configured in R.O. Writer Configuration.
- If you have never used Central Office with R.O. Writer, you need to configure the Central Office server and all stores from scratch.
- If you are upgrading Central Office from R.O. Writer Gen 1 or Gen 2, you need to follow the upgrade process.
